On this anniversary of 9/11, we are once again confronted with the fragility of life. And now, with the devastating assassination of Charlie Kirk, we feel the weight of that truth even more deeply. A husband, father, leader, and voice for truth—gone in an instant. It shakes us. It reminds us that life is unpredictable, uncertain, and fleeting.
The headlines cut through our distractions for a moment. They wake us up. They remind us that what we do with today matters far more than what we plan to do “someday.”
For too long, many of us have worn busy like a badge of honor. We fill our calendars, scroll endlessly, and numb our minds with noise. But let’s be honest: busyness is not purpose. Activity is not impact.
Sir Joshua Reynolds, later echoed by Thomas Edison, once said: “There is no expedient to which a man will not resort to avoid the real labor of thinking.” He was right. It’s easier to distract ourselves than to sit in stillness and wrestle with life’s deeper questions:
What does my best life really look like? What will I wish I had prioritized if today was my last?
The time is now to stop avoiding the labor of thinking and start living with urgency. Put down your phone. Pick up your kids and your Bible. Pick up a pen and write down what matters most.
At SIG, we call this Abundant Living—prioritizing a holistic approach to life that encompasses faith, family, friends, freedom, fun, fulfillment, fitness, and finance. It means living intentionally and fully, integrating every aspect of life in pursuit of personal and spiritual goals, all aligned with God’s purpose.
So ask yourself:
- In Faith – are you drawing near to God daily, not just when tragedy strikes?
- In Family – are you creating memories, protecting time, and investing in the people you love most?
- In Friends – are you surrounding yourself with those who sharpen you, encourage you, and walk through life with you?
- In Freedom & Fun – are you experiencing the joy and liberty that God offers, or are you chained to stress and distractions?
- In Fitness & Fulfillment – are you stewarding your health, your gifts, and your energy for the good of others and the glory of God?
- In Finance – are you living with intentionality, not just for accumulation, but for impact and legacy?
This is abundant living. Not tomorrow. Not someday. Now.
Because here’s the hard truth: as heartbreaking as Charlie Kirk’s death is, in time the headlines will fade. The urgency we feel today will dissipate. The news cycle will move on. But will you?
Will you drift back into old, unproductive rhythms? Will you continue to numb your mind with meaningless scrolling? Or will you—today—make a promise to yourself and to God to put life’s priorities in their proper order?
Don’t let the sun set today without making that commitment. To live urgently. To live abundantly. To live fully aligned with your faith, your family, your calling, and God’s purpose for your life.
The time is now. Join the movement.
